Troubleshooting
My RPZ (Backflow Device) Has an Issue
Controlled/slow drip
If the issue is mild and you can tell where the drip is coming from, send us a picture pointing to that location so we know how to address the issue.
severe leak/spray
If the issue is severe (water spraying / gushing or pipes banging in the basement), shut the water off at both sides of the RPZ by turning the valve handle perpendicular to the pipe. Call us as soon as you can.
If water is still spraying, shut the sprinkler water off in the basement.
If water is still spraying, shut the sprinkler water off in the basement.
**It doesn't hurt to turn your controller to "Off / Standby" once the water is shut off to the system. It causes less wear and tear on the electronic components.
My Controller Has an Issue
Blank Screen
- Check the outlets in the garage or whichever room the controller is plugged into. GFI outlets might be tripped and need to be reset
- If you have a WiFi controller, simply tap the screen or use your app to turn on the display.
- Unplug the controller for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Sometimes a power surge can cause an issue and it needs to reset.
Zone(s) Running for Hours
If one zone won't shut off, it probably isn't the controller.
Shut the water to the system off at the outside (RPZ) valve(s). Contact us for service.
If the whole system keeps running, or runs repeatedly, turn the controller to "off".

It Won't Run at ALL
- Start simple: Make sure it is plugged in and set to "Run"
- Rain sensor: Is it still there? Gutter work / roof repairs sometimes cause the sensor to get knocked off or broken. It will need to be replaced. Call us for service.
There's a geyser in my yard!!
- If it's one small area, you probably have a head that got mowed or damaged. Turn that single zone off by removing the run time or just shut the entire controller off. If it continues to run, shut the water off to the system. You have a supply teed off of your main house water in the basement, usually by the water meter. You can also shut the valves on either side of your backflow device outside.
- If it is a major leak, you can shut off the sprinkler supply either in your basement or at your backflow device outside.
- Contact us to get on the schedule.
FAQs
Do you do installs ?
Sorry, we do not at this time. Our company is small and the demand on our time is such that we focus on system repairs and service only.
How much is an activation/start-up or a winterization/shut-down?
1-16 zones is $100 / 17+ zones is $125 **Exceptions may apply
What are some ways I can upgrade?
- WiFi Controller: Saves water, time and money. Easy and customizable programming
- Rain Sensor: Once the sensor is wet, it will not allow the system to run until it dries.
- Solar Sync Sensor: Automatically adjusts irrigation duration based on weather conditions using on-site solar radiation and air temperature
- Remote Port Installation: (Hunter ProC model controllers) Allows us to run the system with a remote.
- MP Rotor Nozzles: Saves water and can make mist zones much more efficient
- Insect Repellant / Fertilizer Injector: Have repellant and/or fertilizer sprayed any time your system runs
- Mist and Rotor Check Valves: Stops the line from draining down at the lowest head in the zone, avoiding pooling or swampy low areas
